A genuine 18th-century Spanish colonial silver cob 8 reales from Mexico City, issued for King Philip V (circa 1730–1733), assayer F. Certified genuine by NGC Shipwreck Certification, with the Vliegenthart shipwreck pedigree shown on the original NGC label. The Dutch East India Company ship Vliegenthart sank in 1735 off Zeeland, the Netherlands. The NGC holder records a surviving weight of 19.28 grams. The silver has dark, heavily sea-affected surfaces and substantial detail loss; it is considerably lighter than a standard unworn 8 reales. NGC describes this piece as Genuine, not with a numerical grade. Actual coin and shipwreck slab shown front and back. Certification 8406793-081. A distinctive historical shipwreck collectible.
